β†’ Instagram posts crawled by Google

Let's dive in...

πŸ“Œ The 2025 social media image & video sizes cheatsheet

Struggling with cropped social media visuals? Getting your image and video sizes right for each platform is essential to keep your brand looking professional and boost engagement. I’ve put together a guide with all the key image and video sizes you need for 2025.

πŸ”₯ Marketing Moment

Life With Shanelle posted a video on TikTok this week challenging anyone who works at Pampers to try holding a baby in one hand while pulling a wipe out of their packaging with the other. The video (at time of writing) has 9.9M views, 1M likes, 18.6K comments, 21.2K saves and 27.7K shares.

Pampers haven’t responded but a competitor, Rascals, jumped on the opportunity. They posted a video showing multiple members of their team holding teddy bears and easily pulling out one of their wipes. That video currently has 3.1M views, 333.1K likes, 9.6K comments, 6K saves and 10.3K shares.

You know what happened next? Life With Shanelle followed up with another two videos – unboxing a package Rascals sent her, showing herself using the product and promising to post a review soon. And that inspired a number of other creators to film themselves comparing Pampers and Rascals packaging. A massive win for Rascals!

The lesson here? The brands that win online today are the ones that are paying attention and know how to join the conversation quickly, creatively and authentically. Rascals response showed off their product without being pushy.

The takeaway:

  1. Pay attention to what your customers are saying online.
  2. Silence or delay can cost you, especially in a moment of virality.
  3. Don’t be afraid to have fun or be human, it builds trust and relatability.

Instagram posts being crawled by Google

As of July 10th, Google will have more access to your public posts on Instagram. Contrary to popular belief, public Instagram posts have been indexed by Google for several years now. But they are now expanding this to more accounts in more regions. What does this mean for you? SEO on Instagram is even more important if you're looking to expand your reach!

YouTube clarifies changes to their Partner Program policies

YouTube announced that they were updating their monetisation policies to "better identify mass-produced and repetitious content". YouTube then clarified that this is to target inauthentic content. It will not impact re-used content or AI-generated content.

πŸ’ From my desk

Phew! This year has felt like a bit of a whirlwind, and honestly, there have been times where I'm completely unsure of my next direction. It's a tough market right now – whether you're job hunting, navigating redundancies, working full-time, freelancing, or running your own business. But even in the chaos, there are good moments to focus on. If you're feeling a little lost or overwhelmed, know that you're not alone. Keep going, better days are ahead.

Until next time,
Elaine XO
